Mary Bontrager
Mary spent the majority of her career leading efforts to attract, develop and retain talent in the greater Des Moines region where she served as the Executive Vice President of Talent Development for the Greater Des Moines Partnership. She oversaw all areas of talent recruitment and development, diversity/inclusion and education relations until her retirement in 2021. Bontrager has served on numerous local, state and national boards, with a focus on educational attainment, talent development and DEI. She is a 2008/09 alumni of Leadership Iowa and a graduate of Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute where she also served on the Board. In 2001, she was named to the Des Moines Business Record’s “Women of Influence.” Mary is a lifelong Iowan, growing up in southwest Iowa and residing in Des Moines since 1979, She attended the University of Northern Iowa majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Marketing.

Heather Helland
As a licensed Realtor* and a life-long Iowan, Heather enjoys helping people find their Iowa homes. Prior to becoming a Realtor more than a decade ago, Heather was a marketing and fundraising director at two major nonprofit organizations in Des Moines and owned her own marketing consulting firm. As co-owner of Relocate Iowa, she offers clients a friendly, hard-working and caring partner in the process of settling into central Iowa. She gives clients both the experience accumulated through hundreds of successful real estate transactions as well as a broad base of knowledge of neighborhoods, schools, businesses, contractors and recreation developed through many years of love and exploration of Des Moines and greater central Iowa. Heather attended Iowa State University earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism and earned a master’s degree in public administration from Drake University.
